THE MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PERMANENT COSMETICS
1. What is Permanent Cosmetics?
Permanent cosmetics is the process of implanting color into the dermis layer of skin with the use of a specially designed and approved instrument.
2. How long does the procedure take?
Each procedure will take between one and two hours. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for three to four weeks afterward.
3. I have very thin or sparse eyebrows. Will this look natural?
Yes. Permanent make-up looks more natural than eyebrow pencils. A hair stroke technique is used to simulate natural brow hairs or a soft fill-in effect can also be used, depending on your preference.
4. How long does Permanent Cosmetics last?
This procedure is permanent, although some clients will experience some fading and will choose to return for touch-ups. This is typically done after 3-5 years.
5. Is the procedure painful?
A topical anesthetic is used which makes the procedure far more comfortable than anticipated.
6. What colors should I choose?
There is a right color for everyone. We take into consideration your natural skin color, hair color and eye color. A soft, natural color is always preferred.
7. Will I have to take time off work?
No. There is minimum swelling and redness. Ice is used to reduce weelling and an antibiotic cream is used for several days.
8. Can I wear make-up after the procedure is done?
We prefer you wear no mascara if you have color applied to your eyes, and no lipstick if your lips are colored. The procedure site needs to heal for about 7 days.
9. What about sterilization?
Only single-use, sterile needles are used. All other equipment is either discarded after use or sterilized. All guidelines are strictly followed in accordance with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).
10. Can I have Permanent Make-up done if I'm on medication?
Yes, unless you are taking steriods or blood thinning medication.
About our Equipment Nouveau Contour System
Permanent Makeup is a very precise process and is in most cases irreversible. It is therefore important that one should apply Permanent Makeup with the best equipment available. The Nouveau Contour System Digital 700 and the Nouveau Contour Intelligent are a unique 'state of the art' micropigmentation system. Throughout Europe, thousands of physicians and Permanent Makeup technicians daily experience the advantages of the Nouveau Contour System and realize its superior results.
Intelligent
The Intelligent provides the practitioner with state-of-the-art computerized technology. It is equipped and controlled by an Intel microprocessor "chip". The Intelligent's central processing unit offers the most advanced features, which allow for the selection of pre-programmed settings for various procedures, i.e. eyebrow, eyeliner, lip color and medical procedures.
The Intelligent was designed to assist the practitioner in distinguishing between the varying areas of application, i.e. eyes, lips, eyebrows and medical. Software installed in the central processing unit, the operating system of the Intelligent consistently calculates the best needle frequency (speed) needed to achieve optimal pigment retention. Skin structure varies according to the location because the structure and tolerance of the skin is different for each area of application.
For example: For areola pigmentation, the skin structure is very dense compared to that of an eye lid, which is very thin and supple. When set on "Medical" the Intelligent will provide a more efficient way to deposit pigment in those areas, by automatically increasing the power to the handpiece and by adjusting the needle frequency. In a similar manner, when the practitioner is working on an eyeliner procedure, the control unit of the Intelligent can be set to "Eyes", which slows down the power to the handpiece and adjusting of needle frequency, therefore depositing pigment more gently.
The Intelligent has more power than any other rotary device. The needle frequency can be adjusted from 50 to 180 punctures per second. This allows the practitioner more flexibility in needle groupings. With the increased pwer, the practitioner is able to perform every type of cosmetic and medical procedure available.
